Ryad Zouina
Two authentic ryads, adjoining each other, dating from more than 200 years, loaded with history, were restored : the first one in 2003 (ZOUINA YAMANI) and the second one in 2008 (ZOUINA AMAZIGH). The residence has been turned into Guest House with deepest care of preserving the priceless architectural inheritance and with the full respect for Moroccan traditions.
Communicating doors at each levels of the house have been created, making up one unique house with 2 patios. The privacy of each ryads has been preserved and the whole house gets huge collective parts : 600 m2 of floor, 450m2 of terraces and only 9 bedrooms.
The nine bedrooms (5 in RYAD ZOUINA YAMANI + 4 in RYAD ZOUINA AMAZIGH) were equipped with care of details. The whole walls are covered with warm-shaded “Tadelakt”. Each bathrooms with separate toilets, built in “Zelliges” tiles from Fès, are harmoniously decorated with handcrafted basins and taps.
In the first floor, the large living-room seems like an artist studio with its wide glass windowpanes opening onto a central courtyard of lush greenery. You will appreciate taking diner next to the open fireplace which makes the winter evenings magical.
In the large columned patio, surrounded by the flowered and musical atmosphere, you will be invited to appreciate the soothing sensation of the jacuzzi (Heated from April to end of October).
The wide terrace with solarium and open-bar, offers you the opportunity to breakfast in the warmth of the rising sun for most of the year.You will be delighted when you experience the exceptional view from the panoramic terrace over the whole Medina and the gardens of Pacha Glaoui’s palace. The Koutoubia minaret seems to be gazing down upon you and the snow-capped High Atlas mountains encourage you to sit down and meditate.
